Tim Russert

Derrick and I were huge fans of Time Russert. Well, wet still are.
He was often on the Today show, which we don't miss, and we used to joke that he MUST sleep in a cot under the news desk. He was on TV ALL....THE.....TIME. He taught us about politics in a way that we trusted and understood. He was obviously a gentle, kind, and funny guy that we looked forward to listening to each week. From watching the tributes to him, he was a very honorable man and loving son and father.

One of my favorite moments I've seen so far is this clip from Fox news. It's just beautiful.
Click here and watch the "Rainbow" clip.

I can't even begin to tell you how upset I have been about his death. I Tivo-ed Meet the Press every week and watched Tim on The Today Show and Nightly News. He was such a smart, quick-witted, well-prepared and tough interviewer, which I really liked. But more than that, he was a real guy; a down to earth, blue-collar person who loved his family and his faith. Plus he loved beer and football!! What a great guy.

I am really going to miss him and have shed more tears than I care to admit. I am glad to hear that I am not the only one who is upset about his sudden passing. This world could really use some more people like Tim Russert.
