Thesis Update

Warning: This could bore you to sleep.
Make sure you're not holding a cup of coffee and don't read this during class.

You've been warned.

Today I made it official. I will propose my thesis to my committee on Monday, October 8 at 4:00pm. So basically I've been reading, researching, reading, writing, writing, submitting and correcting drafts of my proposal for months. This "proposal" will ultimately be the introduction and methods section of my final thesis.
Currently I am on draft #34. Once it's polished a bit more, I will go before my committee of 3 professors and present to them what I'm doing, why, how, etc. etc. and they critique me and I make corrections as needed. Once approved, I can send out my surveys to collect data. Then I will analyze the data, write about it and repeat the editing process, then I'll have my final defense. This is again a big and hopefully the final presentation to my committee.

You hope that there are no major flaws after the defense and once the committee signs off on your final thesis, you're this close to a Master's degree. Just a few revisions, printing it on special cotton paper, binding, and the final submission. Deadline for final submission to the University: November 15. Needless to say I'm pushing full steam ahead. I'm worried but confident that I'm going as fast as possible to earn a degree this fall.

Title: Measuring Counterproductive Work Behaviors: Verbal versus Numeric Scales.

Whew. If you read this far, I'm impressed. I feel like I should do something mildly entertaining.... The idea was that I'd find a fun thesis-related picture. All I found was a bunch of boring photos and lots of people with "thesis cakes" - as in the congrats cake you get when you defend your thesis. Note to self: bake huge, white thesis cake with white icing to celebrate. Above is a quick, very relavent cartoon just because. If you're in graduate school, you'd love Piled Higher and Deeper cartoons.
