Congratulations to our friends of Dova Grove. They won a local contest put on by Fox TV and will be flying to Las Vegas tomorrow to compete with 39 other bands in a competition similar to and with the same producers as American Idol. 40 bands from around the country will be narrowed to 10 then voting opens to the public. So keep your eye out for The Next Great American Band, premiering October 19. We're crossing our fingers and cheering on our favorite band, Dova Grove!
The photo is from the band's "send-off" show last night. You can see our crew sporting our Dova Grove shirts. It was a blast! I'll keep you updated on results.
We'll be traveling to northwest Arkansas, our future home, tomorrow night. We'll visit Kate and Dan, see my sis, and take time to relax. On the way home we plan to stop in Altus, AR to visit a few wineries. I'll be sure to share anything fun we happen upon when we return. I plan on being picture-happy since we got a new camera yesterday!!!!! I'm a just a little excited. I'm putting my digital SLR camera on hold and instead using a compact Canon PowerShot SD1000 digital elph. The photo in this post was the camera's first official photo. It's just great. I was on the verge of putting duct tape on my old compact digital... it was definitely time for a replacement.
