ATL

So I'm in Atlanta with Jordan and her fiancee Bill. We're watching the Tour de France for the second morning in a row. Bill and Jordan have recorded each day of the 21 day race so far on their DVR. I have never watched cycling nor am I familiar with the rules but after what I've learned in the past two days, I think I'm a fan. It's so smart, team oriented, an unbelievable challenge, and just fascinating. The strategy is interesting, the equipment, everything.

Jordan and I visited Piece of Cake here in Atlanta yesterday. It's a cute local bakery that makes homemade-like cakes and ships them everywhere. Jordan and I tasted three flavors and split a couple of pieces (you can buy by the slice!). The caramel was WAY too sweet. The white chocolate was so nice - moist with smooth icing. The coconut was also wonderful - very moist cake with layers of coconut in between. Of course this treat was followed by a nearly 2 hour walk to let the cake settle. This part of Atlanta is adorable - great shops, great restaurants, a healthy community with parks and lots of neighbors spending time outdoors.

We ended the day at Imax and Martinis, an event at a nearby museum. You go a bit before the movie, get a drink and/or some food, listen to the live music and then see an Imax film. What a great idea! We saw the Greatest Places, which visited 7 "great" places around the globe. It was awesome and I hope to make it to another Imax movie or two when I get home!

I'll go for now, no more Atlanta play-by-plays. I'm having a great time relaxing with J, so back to it. Happy weekend!
