Yesterday Derrick and I had our last "long" run before the actual race. After such a stormy weekend, the sun came out and the weather cooled enough for a beautiful run at Shelby Farms. We were rewarded with purple Gatorade (my favorite) and a gorgeous sunset (also my favorite).
We've been training since January and I think we're both SO ready to see the finish line. I'm getting anxious already and have considered taking a test run of Tylenol PM or another sleep aid this week... and then the night before the race. Even for a "fun run" 5K in New Orleans I could hardly sleep and woke up so anxious and excited! I don't remember getting that anxious before tennis matches back in the day, but it works out. I do recall before the Disney marathon I hardly slept at alllll and the few moments I did, I was dreaming about waking up.
These are the shoes (and the legs) that have gotten me through the training so far. The shoes are wonderfully dirty and have clashing elastic laces, but that's part of their character. I've picked out my running outfit and have tested out each piece to make sure it can get me to the end and then I think it'll be time for some new shoes. And new goals. But for now, I'm gearing up each day for Saturday's race. The countdown begins today...

So exciting! So that is the view you have to the ground, very high. Best of luck. Please send a TM and let me know how awesome you did. Get rest and don't forget to use band-aids as needed :)
