It's a cold, nasty day and on days like today sometimes it's nice to daydream about being at the beach. Or, a close second, daydream about completing another milestone at school.
Today I thought back to last fall when I took a great road trip with some girlfriends. We went to see Coldplay in Oklahoma City and the band far surpassed the high expectations I had in the months leading up to the concert. I don't know how to explain it. When the concert ended, I realized that a couple hours had passed and we felt like they'd just started playing. We could have stayed all night and wanted so badly to find another concert and become overnight Coldplay groupies, but it was time to go. So now I can look back and remember what a great time we had, realizing it may be a while before we get to do it again.
It was a long road trip from Memphis to OKC. And fortunately I had with me the most important part of any road trip - good company. I picked up Megan about 2 hours into the drive, then Kate met us in northwest AR. Angela was waiting in Tulsa and before dark we made it to OKC. We stayed at a beautiful hotel, the Skirvin Hilton, thanks to my sister's awesome hotel family rate hook up. The next morning we took the road home, dropping off the girls in reverse order and hoping that we'd get to do this again someday.
It was an awesome concert and a fun, quick road trip.
And today it's a great daydream...

does this mean something happened with map? not pressuring you, just want to encourage you if you did! :)
I would rather be at any concert in the world than working on the MAP.
Sounds like a great girls trip! I have had a few of those in my life, and there just isn't anything more fun than a road trip with great friends, a nice hotel, good food and good times. Your trip certainly had all those things and was topped off with what seemed like an amazing concert.
In the famous words of Tina Fey, "I want to go to there."
Have you seen Chris Martin on Extras?
